Woman was shot to death by riding in tadem

MIDSALIP, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 16, 2018) – A woman was shot to death by the rideing in tandem, the Shooting incident transpired at Barangay Guma, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:40 PM of November 15, 2018.

The Victim was identified as Luzminda Lomoloy y Hinaut, 57 years old widower, sales lady of Trisha Merchandise and resident of Purok, Brgy, Buloron, Midsalip Zambo. Sur.

She was shot to death by unidentified suspects with the used of cal. 45 based on recovered fired empty shell at the crime scene.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim was riding a single motorcycle rusi 125 color black as a passenger, driven by Jomar Catili y Langilan 20 years old single a habal2x driver resident of Brgy lumponid, Midsalip, ZDS.

 While travelling towards Brgy Buloron Midsalip, Zambo.Sur that upon reaching at National highway of Prk 4 Brgy, Guma, Midsalip, ZDS, one single motorcycle XRM 125 color black without plate number run beside them and suddenly the backrider drawn his firearm without apparent reason pointed the gun shouted and commanded to Jomar in bisayan dialect “ hunong hunong”.

With the fear to be shot, Jomar immediately stop his motor and that instant the back rider of XRM 125 shot the victim several times.

The victim sustained two gunshot wound particularly left portion of the eye brow and left portion of her ear that causes her instantaneous death.

Recover from the crime scene were one live ammo and one empty shell of cal. 45.

After the incident the suspects fled towards direction of Sominot, Zambo. Sur. Motive of the incident still to be determined.

2 Arrested in Law Enforcement Operation in Zamboanga Del Sur

MIDSALIP, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 9, 2018) – The Combined operatives of Midsalip MPS, Zamboanga Del Sur and Regional Special Operation Group of PRO9 conducted Intel driven operation against wanted person at Purok 2, Barangay, Matalang, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:00 AM of November 08, 2018.

The operation was resulted to the successful arrest of the two suspects identified as:

Eduardo Selim Y Soposo, 44 years old, resident of Purok 2, Barangay Matalang, Midsalip Zamboanga del Sur and

Alex Bonsalao Y Candao, listed as watch list for gun for hire in the municipality of Midsalip, male, 46 yrs. old, married, farmer and resident of Purok 1, Barangay Guitalos, Midsalip Zamboanga del Sur

The two accused was arrested by virtue of  warrant of arrest for the crime of Homicide docketed under criminal case No. 18-10,1546  with bail recommended (Php80,000.00 each issued by Presiding Judge of 9th Judicial Region Branch 30, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur dated Novemver 5, 2018.

The accused are now temporarily detained Midsalip MPS lock-up cell while for proper disposition. 

Vehicular Accident

MIDSALIP, Zamboanga del Sur ((Oct. 16, 2018) - Vehicular accident that transpired at Purok 2, Brgy Guma, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:30pm of October 15, 2018.

PNP personnel of Midsalip MPS immediately proceeded to the area to verify the veracity of the report and upon arrival saw one single MC Honda Wave 110 (MC 1), color black without plate number and registration driven by Alejandro Moral Bienes, 20 years old, single, Habal-habal driver with student permit, resident of Purok Militar, Poblacion A, Midsalip, and one Honda XRM 125 (MC 2), color black with plate no.8838 JG, driven by Paquito Pacheco Jr y Carbonel, 40 years, married, resident of Purok 3 Bacahan Midsalip, crashed to the ground.

Initial investigation disclosed that single MC1 while travelling along the said highway going towards Sominot, accidentally sideswiped the victim Edgardo Celestial y Bonggol, 47 years old, farmer and resident of Purok 3, Brgy Bibilop, Midsalip, and seconds later sideswiped again by MC2, while walking along the side of the road.

Immediately after the accident, the victim was rushed to Midsalip Infirmary Hospital for medical treatment but was declared by the attending physician Dead on Arrival due to multiple injuries.

Further, the two single MC and both drivers were brought Midsalip MPS for proper disposition.

1 person killed in Stabbing Incident

MIDSALIP, Zamboanga Del Sur Sept. 4, 2018) – One person was killed in Stabbing incident occurred at Purok 2, Barangay Pawan, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur. The victim was identified as one Jay-R Mabisa Lumawas, 19 yrs. old, single, farmer and a resident of afore-said place.

Initial Investigation disclosed that at about 2:00pm of September 1, 2018 the victim identified as Jay-R Lumawas, and his two friends identified as Randy Gumawid Claton, 25 yrs. old, single, farmer and older brother Danny Gumawid Claton, 28 yrs. old, single, farmer both residents of Purok 4, Barangay Datu Tutukan, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur were having drinking spree. They were drinking at the coconut dryer (landahan) of Belia Quilar at Purok 7 of Barangay Pawan, Midsalip.

At around 5:00pm of the same day, they went to Barangay Pawan proper and while on their way, Randy Claton and the victim having a conversation that resulted to an intense argument.

Afterwards, without apparent reason, Jay-R Lumawas suddenly boxed Randy Claton in the face and the brothers retaliated by stabbing and slashing Jay-R Lumawas using the hunting knife owned by Randy Claton.

The Victim sustained multiple stabbed wounds on the different parts of his body and one slashed wound on his leg. Then afterwards, Claton brothers fled on foot towards Barangay Datu Tutukan, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

That around 6:00PM on the same day the suspect Randy Claton voluntarily surrendered to Roger Aliego Pacto, Chief Tanod of Barangay Datu Tutukan and immediately brought by the said Chief Tanod to Dumingag MPS.

On the next day September 2, 2018 at around 6 o’clock in the morning, Danny Claton, voluntarily surrendered to the aforesaid chief tanod and later turned over to Dumingag MPS.

The PNP Personnel of Midsalip MPS picked the two aforesaid suspects at Dumingag MPS and now in custody of Midsalip MPS for proper disposition. The motive of the incident is personal grudge. SPO1 Julie Raagas Capangpangan is investigator on case with cellphone no. 09070695312.

Shooting Incident

MIDSALIP, Zamboanga del Sur (Aug.14, 2018) - Shooting incident occurred at Purok 3, Barangay Guitalos, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 3:30 PM of August 11, 2018.

The victim was identified as Benben Gumandag Mandao, 27 years old, married, farmer, a rebel returnee and a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Guitalos, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur.

Initial investigation disclosed that victim was walking alone on his way home at Purok 3 of the said Barangay from Brgy Guitalos proper and upon reaching the secluded area, nearby the river. Four unidentified suspects wearing Philippine Army uniform (camouflage) waylaid him wherein two of them armed with long firearms and shot the victim several times, then suspects fled on foot towards Barangay Lizon Valley, Pagadian City after the commission of the crime.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the right upper quadrant of his abdomen and immediately brought by the concerned residents to Midsalip Infirmary Hospital for immediate medical treatment and subsequently transferred to Zamboanga Del Sur Medical Center, Dao, Pagadian City.

It was further disclosed that one of the gun men was Terso Beksala aka Diego, a resident of Barangay Lizon Valley, Pagadian City, former victims companion when he was an active member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).  

Personnel of Midsalip MPS is now conducting hot pursuit operation in coordination with the AFP counterparts in the area for the possible arrest of the suspects.

Drowning Incident

MIDSALIP, ZamboSur (August 2, 2018) - On July 28, 2018 at about 4:40 PM, The person of Rosmela Gapino y Lumosad, 20 years old, single was found dead at Guitalos River in Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur by his nephew Ricky M Placido, 8 years old, also a resident of said place.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that at around 10:45 AM of July 28, 2018, the victim Rosmela Gapino left their house and went to the house of her auntie Mentalya Dapino and told her that she will take a bath at the back of their house near Guitalos River.

Hours later, Mentalya (auntie) was alarmed since her niece did not return. Meanwhile, at about 4:30 PM of same date, she was told by their neighbor that her niece Rosmela was seen dead five kilometers away from their house.

Further investigation disclosed that the victim believed to be drowned and taken by the flood that resulted to her death due to contusions and injuries on the different parts of the victim’s body, head and face.

The dead body was brought to their house by her immediate family and relatives. Investigator is SPO1 Pfizer A Perez with CP 0907-4697-332.

Murder Suspect Arrested in Midsalip Police Operation

 PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga Del Sur (July 10, 2018)–The combined operating units of PNP successfully arrested one murder suspect during the conduct of joint police operation on wanted person (Service of Arrest Warrant) at Purok 4, Barangay Pisompongan, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 10:00 AM of July 09, 2018. 

The operating troops composed from the PNP personnel of Misalip Municipal Police Station (MPS), Task Force Tugis of Police Regional Office 9, 902^nd Mobile Company of RMFB9, Regional Intelligence Unit 9 and Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Police identified the arrestedmurder suspect as Junior Patihan y Campos, 56 yrs. Old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok 4, Brgy. Pisompongan, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Murder under Crim. Case No. 15-10, 1146 dated August 27, 2015 and signed by Hon. Analyn F. Ramas-Costanilla, Presiding Judge, 9^th Judicial Region Branch 30 Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur with no bail recommended.

The accused is now temporary detained at MidsalipMPS detention cell waiting for court disposition. (By JONG CADION)

Top 2 Most Wanted in Midsalip, ZamboSur, Arrested

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga Del Sur (July 9, 2018) – The combined police operatives successfully arrested the Top 2 Most Wanted Person during the conduct of Intel driven police operation against wanted person at Purok 5, Barangay Golictop, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur at around 4:00 PM of July 7, 2018, Police Official said.

Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) PIO Chief CINSP Helen L. Galvez disclosed that the combined operatives were composed from the Midsalip Municipal Police Station (MPS), PRO9 Task Force Tugis, Regional Intelligence Division 9, Regional Intelligence Unit 9, 902^nd Mobile Company of RMFB9 and Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted an intel driven police operation against wanted person.

CINSP Galvez identified the arrested wanted person as Lito Maglasang y Cayman 39 years old, married, farmer and Top 2 Most Wanted Person in Municipal level, and a resident of Barangay Dalawon Molave of this province.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Murder under Criminal Case No. 03-10,347 dated August 12, 2004 issued and signed by Hon. Loreto C. Quinto, Presiding Judge of 9^th Judicial Region Branch 30 of Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur with No Bail Bond recommended for his temporary liberty, CINSP Galvez said.

Upon the arrest of the accused, he was informed of his Constitutional Rights as embodied under the Philippine Constitution and immediately was brought by the arresting officers to Midsalip MPS for proper disposition, PRO-9 PIO Chief also said.  (By H. ‘Jong’ D. CADION)

4 killed in Police Shootout in Midsalip, ZamBoSur

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga Del City (July 7, 2018)-   Four members of criminal gang operating in the municipality of Midsalip in this province were killed in a shootout with the combined police operatives during the conduct of law enforcement operation at Purok 4, Barangay Cumarom, Midsalip at about 5:30am of July 5, 2018, police official said.

Police Regional Office-9 PIO Chief CINSP Helen L. Galvez disclosed that the combined operating troops were composed of the Regional Intelligence Division 9, Regional Special Operation Group 9-Task Force Tugis, Regional Intelligence Unit 9, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 and Midsalip Municipal Police Station.

They were executing the service of Warrant of Arrest for Murder docketed under CC # 13-10,976 against Ramon Bantayan and Rondi Bantayan (ranked as Top 7, Most Wanted Person, Midsalip Municipality, Zamboanga Del Sur), CINSP Galvez said.

Galvez added that the successful operations was resulted to a few minutes of fierce gunfight between operating elements and the fugitives after suspects open fire to the police operatives upon seeing their presence in the area which prompted members of the operating team to return fire against the suspects.

Galvez identified the suspects that killed on the spot were Ramon Bantayan, Rondi Bantayan and two still to be recognized by local police authority.

Police investigators recovered from the possession of the suspects were several improvised shotguns (paltiks), caliber .45 pistols, assorted ammunitions including bladed weapons, PIO Chief said.

Galvez also discloed that the said criminal gangs are responsible in several shooting incidents in the area including incidents of cannibalism.

Illegally cut Lumbers confiscated in Midsalip

MIDSALIP, Zamboanga del Sur (June 15, 2018) - The PNP personnel of Midsalip Municipal Police Station (MPS) conducted checkpoint at Purok Curvada Poblacion –A in the municipality of Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur at around 2:00 PM of June 13, 2018.

The team was able to flagged down one (1) Cargo Truck Isuzu Elf color blue bearing with plate No. 120108 driven Jimmy Antipuesto Taga-an with expired driver’s license loaded with more or less 2,400 board feet of assorted lumber of Bakan and Tipolo trees owned by  a certain Gomer Ambulong.

The said lumber brought to Midsalip MPS for proper disposition. Thereafter, PSI Kenneth Soon- Chief of Police of Midsalip MPS coordinated Dr. Adelaida Borja, CENR Officer of Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur.

At around 2:30 o’clock in the afternoon of the same day, Victor I. Dajao, Jr, Surveillance and Intelligence Unit CENRO of Ramon Magsaysay arrived at MIdsalip MPS and conducted inventory the said confiscated lumber with estimated board feet of 2,400 board ft. amounting to Thirty Thousand Pesos (Php 30,000.00).

The assorted lumbers were now turned over to DENR CENRO of Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur for proper disposition. (By JONG CADION)

Suicide Incident in Midsalip

A dead body found at Purok 2A, Barangay Sigapod, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:00 O’clock in the morning of May 24, 2018.

Immediately thereafter, PNP personnel of Midsalip MPS proceeded to the said place to verify the veracity of the report and to conduct initial investigation.

Upon arrival of responding team, found the Victim lifeless and was hanging on the Gemelina tree using with a rope,  victim identified as one (1) Loloy Tumasic y Mansip, 44 years old, married, CAA member of 5th IB Philippine Army, presently assigned at Sigapod CAA detachment and resident of Purok 2A, Barangay Sigapod, Midsalip ZDS.

Murder Suspect Arrested in Midsalip

MIDSALIP, Zamboanga del Sur (May 20, 2018) – The Combined elements of Police Regional Office 9 Special Operation Group-Regional Intelligence Division 9, 902nd Mobile Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9, Midsalip MPS and Bayog MPS executed the service of Arrest Warrant On May 20, 2018 at about 6:00 PM.

The operation conducted against the suspect of Frustrated Murder with Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Romeo T. Descallar, Presiding Judge of 9th RTC Branch 19, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur docketed under cc#13346-2K17 dated February20, 2017.

The suspect identified as David Alagon @ "Kepig" at Purok 3, Brgy. Pisompongan, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The subject has reportedly transferred residence from Bayog Municipality to Midsalip Municipality after having committed crime in Bayog some few years back. He is presently detained at Midsalip MPS . Formal report will follow. (By JONG CADION)

Farmer shot to death due to farm conflict

MIDSALIP, Zamboanga Del Sur (April 25, 2018) – A Farmer was short to death due to farm conflict. The shooting incident transpired at Purok 4, Brgy. Palili, Midsalip Zamboanga Del Sur at about 2:00pm of April 24, 2018.

Case Investigator SPO1 Julie R. Capangpangan identified the victim as Marcelo Mangatol Mahalumbay, 63 years old, married farmer and a resident of Poblacion B, Midsalip of this province.

The suspect was identified as Lito Cabural Dumagao, 37 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok 4, Brgy Palili, Midsalip, who immediately surrendered himself to Rodolfo C. Camadote, Punong Barangay of Palili, Midsalip to include the firearm he used for the crime, a Cal 38. Revolver (homemade) and one (1) live ammo of cal. 38. Meanwhile, at about 6:15 pm of the same date, SPO1 Capangpangan said.

The suspect was subsequently turned-over by the Rodolfo Camadote, Punong Brgy, Palili, Midsalip to the personnel of Midsalip MPS. 

Further investigation revealed that the victim got angry to the suspect after his corn crops was eaten by the cow of the suspect. During confrontation, the victim and the suspect had a commotion that resulted the suspect shot the victim once, hitting the abdomen that resulted to his sudden death. The suspect is now in temporary detained at Midsalip MPS while preparing appropriate charge to be file in court. (By Jong Cadion)

Swertres Collector arrested in Operation against Illegal Numbers Game

MIDSALIP, Zamboanga del Sur (April 5, 2018) – The operatives of Midsalip Police Station successfully arrested the 2 suspects of illegal gambling collector during the separate conduct of operation against illegal numbers game locally known as “SUERTRES” Tuesday at 6pm in the said municipality.

Case investigator P01 Nilven M. Gilbolingo disclosed that the operations in the 2 separate places of Purok 5, Brgy Buloron and of Purok 4, Poblacion B of this municipality.

The separate police operations resulted to the arrest of Benaldo Lomoloy Roger Jr, 22 yrs old, single a resident of Prk. 3 Brgy Lumponid and Reynaldo Aligo Candong, 26 years old, single, habal-habal driver, collector of swertres illegally operating in the said town and a resident of purok 2, Brgy Tulbong all of this municipality.

The police operatives confiscated from the possession and control of

Roger Jr the following; 4 pcs -100 peso bill, 5pcs -50 peso bill, 7 pcs –

20 peso bill, 4 pcs - 10 peso coin, 7 pcs - 5 peso coin, 15 pcs- 1 peso

coin, 1 pcs cell phone Samsung galaxy J2 prime (color black), 26 pcs of

Tally sheet with numbers combination and 9 pcs of blank tally sheet.

Confiscated from the possession and control of Reynaldo the following

items; 1 pc 200 peso bill, 4pcs 100 peso bill, 1 pc 20 peso bill, 30 pcs 5

peso coin, 11 pcs 10 peso coin, 31 pcs 1 peso coin, 35 pages tally

sheets with number combinations, 55 pages tally sheets blank.

Both suspects are now temporary detained at Midsalip Municipal Police Station while preparing appropriate charges in court. (By Jong Cadion)
