MIDSALIP,
Zamboanga del Sur – Ine person
was killed in Shooting incident transpired at Purok Datu Guilingan, Barangay
Poblacion A, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur at about 4:40 PM of May 08, 2019.

Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Dante Jumawan Caangay 43 years
old married a resident of Barangay Cumarom, Midsalip Zamboanga del Sur, a
casual employee of LGU Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur and a High Value Target drug
personality.
Investigation conducted disclosed that
prior to the incident, the victim was on board on a single black motorcycle XRM
125, sitting as back rider, driven by Jenito Omilig Megabon, 20 years old,
single, farmer, and a resident of Barangay Cabaluran, Midsalip and was
travelling towards Poblacion A Midsalip and upon reaching at National highway
Purok Datu Guilingan, Midsalip and about to stop at vicinity of Jerson Caminade
shop, (1) one gray pick-up truck running towards opposite direction stop beside
them and gun man wearing a bonnet step down of said vehicle and shot the victim
several times hitting his head and different parts of his body that causes his
untimely death.
Recovered from the crime scene were
eight (8) pieces of empty shells and one (1) slug of cal. 45 pistols. Recovered
from the position of the victim were one caliber .45 pistols with serial
no.382641 loaded of 8 live ammos, tucked on his waistline. The suspects fled
towards direction of Municipality of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. Motive of the
incident still to be determined.
Accidental Firing Incident
An accidental firing incident
transpired at Sitio Lacnapan, Nasibac, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte at
about 8:00 AM of May 8, 2019.

Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Gernelyn Datuan Tumutong, 14
years old, female, single, grade III, a native and resident of the
above-mentioned place.
She was hit at her abdomen when a
home-made firearm believed to be loaded with M14 bullet accidentally burst.
Accordingly, prior to the incident said
minor victim was left alone at their house while her parents were on their
cornfield, the said minor took the said homemade firearm allegedly owned by her
father, Pacito Tumutong, which accidentally burst.
Victim sustained gunshot wound at her
abdomen and passed through her left back. Victim was brought to Sindangan
District Hospital and later forwarded to ZANORTE Medical Center, Dipolog City
for medical treatment.
Leon B Postigo Municipal Police Station
is still conducting follow-up investigation on the incident.
